I was finally able to get a day off of work, headed out with my Pops and a good friend form work, Ended up leaving the docks at 4am and making it to the Outcrop around 7. Dropped lines at about 220’ in about 15 min had the first fish on, I had only heard about catching Makos trolling but never experienced it until Friday, what a wicked looking shark. Long story short after a long day of trolling we ended up with a nice Wahoo a small dolphin and nice size black fish. One other thing I keep see in about 100’ of water are Sun fish, Has anyone else seen them? How can I add some pics.
We saw 2 of those sunfish Fri. Congrats on the catch. Ya’ll did a lot better than we did. You can add those pics by going to photobucket.com, create an account, and download them. Then just add the pics when you post. By the way, that mako is some good eatin’, hope you kept it!

I think you can keep one Short Fin Mako but Long Fin Mako is prohibited. Might want to check before keeping one.

For a newbie fishing offshore, where is outcrop? And where can I find GPS coordinates of reefs off of Charleston, since my GPS doesn’t have them?
Three-fourths of the Earth’s surface is water, and one-fourth is land. It is quite clear that the good Lord intended us to spend triple the amount of time fishing as taking care of the lawn.
Fargo, This will take you to the Reefs where you can get the numbers you want. You might want to go to West Marine and purchase a Waterproof chart for the Charleston area. That would also show you alot of Live Bottom where you can fish also. As far as the Outcrop, I wish I could make it out that far, but sorry Can’t help you with that one. Hope this helps though.
Okay, the pirate comment has me rolling on the floor that was too funny! And now I just realized the kid with his finger up his nose. We caught the bottom fish at about 93’. I’m thinking of going out tomorrow if the wind calms down.
</font id=“quote”></blockquote id=“quote”>With a mixed bag that you got, that’s a good sign in my book. Grouper opens back up in a few days and it’s nice to see something other than black sea bass being caught in 100’.
Finally get a day off from work??? Didn’t know you “worked”!! Just kidding boss.
Glad to see you all did well. I guess my phone doesn’t work when fishing is envolved just work. Again kidding. I’ll let you know once I can nail down a day for us to go. Good luck tomorrow if you go.
