Outcrop 6/3

Looks like we did about as good as anybody. Started fishing in 128’ of water at 710am. Nice Kingfish in ten min. Ten min later in 135’ our first dolphin. From then on it was just under one fish/hour. All between 10 and 20lbs. No big ones. Water varied from 79.5-80.5.

Fished a bunch of weed patches to no avail. Spent lots of time clearing weed from baits.

All fish caught on top. Nothing from down rigger or way back. All bites were near propwash.

1/2-1’waves on a beautiful ocean and a beautiful day. Never caught anything deeper than 220’. Noticed a group of four or six sporties and boats over the outcrop.

9 dolphin and one king. No other species. Lost at least three others due to incompetence or otherwise bad luck. All in all very pleased with the catch. Looks like things the dolphin catch slowed down now that the ocean is real nice. Go figure?

With the numbers being caught over the past 6 weeks it was just a matter of time.

At least you got 9…talked a few others who only had 2 or 3 in the box. Better than being at work!

Doc as always it was a fantastic time on the big pond with a great and entertaining group. Thank you so much!! Guess you could figure out I was unable to fish today, ■■■■ low pressure system. At least mother nature smiled on us yesterday. Also seems the bite yesterday favored shorter shirts on the ballyhoo. The offshore algae bloom has started, summertime fishing is here.

Doc, I guess I need to come take fish from your freezer this weekend. Lord knows you won’t offer it. Even Ol Buster hasn’t called with a left over fillet. I’ll get his freezer too.
Glad you are able to get out. ■■■■ economy!

Gage,

I called your phone and left a message. Wish you could have gone.

A friend offered me a ride on his boat out of Georgetown same day. He reports 24 dolphin and had a blue marlin on.

I should have gone with him!!!

We had nothin cookin all day yesterday. Slowest day in years…literally. We were surrounded by the fleet from 730 to 1100. Picked up ran all over in the afternoon. Worked back in shallow and found a nice weedline in about 120’. Picked up 3 dolphin. Headed for the rocks at 400 with 5 dolphin. From 845 - 130 we never even had a knock down. I don’t know how we managed to pick up the last few fish of the day after 5 hours of cooler splashin. I had to put up with 4 highly intoxicated people. 3 were clients.

The beauty of those Dolphin in the water has been greatly challenged by the quality of the table fare they provide, as to which is greater. Doc thanks, they are both AWESOME!!

I was one of the sporties out there. The fish have been out deep for us. Had a HUGE marlin on, couldnt guess how big.

Seachaser, was the Marlin hooked at the Outcrop? Saw a sporty circle for a while near there, but we were to far away to see what was caught.

Yes we fished the outcrop all day. Thats about the only place thats been productive this year for us
