Went down to my folks this weekend and my father and I went to Lake Orange which is just outside Ocala, Fl. If you ever get the chance - go! Long story short - caught over 45. Nothing very big, biggest was about 5, although if not for the steady, not gusty, steady 35+ mph wind, coulda stayed on the spot where the bigger fish seemed holed up. Never fished in wind this strong and still been able to catch fish-the wind was whipping the surface of the water so bad it was literally raining UP. Caught them om candy bug and june big red u-vibes and camo houdini shads.
Did something I never that I would do, even though I wasn’t trying. Caught 5 species of fish on the same lure (camo houdini) -largemouth, jack (chain pickerel), mud fish, crappie and warmouth. It felt like we were always getting bit.
A day to remember
It don’t matter - the sun will rise and the tides will change.
