Over Run 4/4 - 4/5

Left Ripley at 1:00pm and ran to SW Banks. Lines in at 3:30 - caught a small dolpin. Worked up towards the G-town Hole, fished that area until sunset. Pretty steady action the last hour of daylight. Caught 6 blackfins, a couple more dolphin and 2 wahoo cutoffs before it got dark. Pushed south and offshore to 1200’ to try for a swordfish. Ended up getting one around midnight. That was our only drift bite. Beautiful night with light wind and flat seas. Saw alot of squid under the boat in the lights. Very little current, only drifted 1 mile by 4:00am. At daybreak started trolling again at the Hole. Good action at first light, caught 4 more blackfins. Picked up at 8:30am and ran to 100’. Bottom fished for a little while. Caught 10 black sea bass. Back to the hill around noon.

Sounds like a good mixed trip. Oughta bring some squid jigs next time you fish for the swords at night. That would be fun.

Sounds like you made the most of that trip. I just need about a 10-15’ bigger boat and I’d love to do it!

Awesome trip!!! I heard you boys had a blast. Great way to start the season!!!

Great day, well done! What size was the sword, how deep? Can’t beat the sundown/daybreak combo.
