Not much of a social media person, but I figured that if I read all of ya’lls posts, the least I can do is to contribute. That being said, I am new to the offshore trolling game and deep water fishing. With the weather report that we received for Saturday, it was hard to pass up the opportunity to run offshore and at least practice trolling and trying to catch keeper black bass. Left Cherry point about 6:30, directly SE to 150-180ft. Trolled that depth back and forth headed North for about 3 hrs. No hits. Pulled out the maps unique and punched in some live bottom numbers to try in about 100ft. Nothing to speak of but some grunts. Loaded up and headed home. Did get to see my first whale on the way in though. I will just have to put in my due time and learn more. No fish but a great day with Dad and a flat as glass ocean.
(Hope these pictures are not too big, and the right direction, if they even show up at all. Still new to all this.)

A whale surfaced very near our boat Saturday too. Amazing creatures out there. The trip alone is fun enough. Catching fish is just a bonus.

Anytime you run offshore and make it back safe and sound it’s already a successful day. That being said, you will learn more and more each time you go and I among others will be the first to congratulate you on putting in the time and effort to learn things on your own. You will have a much greater appreciation and respect for the the information you gather this way, and others will respect you as well. Thanks for sharing and keep it up! Awesome whale sighting by the way!
