Anybody ever overnighted on any of the artificial reefs offshore. I’ve drifted for swords before just wondering if you could make half a night of it with some hydroglows and do anything productive.
I have while bottomfishing. I have no experience in catching swordfish so I can’t be of assistance there. Amberjack, kings and sharks get pretty active in my experience but the other reef dwellers seemed to get fairly quiet. I enjoy night fishing trips but I’m uncomfortable without the company of another boat. Make sure you have an experienced crew and all your gear is in perfect order. A buddy boat is a must for me at night.

It is a different experience, especially when the wind kicks up. We have done it before and totally enjoyed it. B-liners bite good at night with an occasional BSB, get your limit of them in the dark, then work on the other bottom critters when the sun comes up. I usually nap on the bean bags when we hit the B-liner limit before the sun comes up.

What if you start on one day, spend the night, and continue fishing the next day…two limits, right?
Next time you come in, come heavy, or not at all…
Don’t try that with DNR.

You may only have one limit in your possession even if you are technically fishing two different days

ASK DNR THE HEADBOATS DO IT ON OVERNIGHT TRIPS THERES ARE 25 HOUR TRIPS OUT OF MURRELLS INLET THEY GET DOUBLE LIMITS
Find a good piece of live bottom and do it. You will be amazed at what you catch. We wore out the grouper one night but the bite was only about a hour and a half long. Caught the usual suspects until about 10 oclock and then the grouper went nuts. Pinkies, beeliners, blackfish and small sharks along with a couple of mercury missiles were there also.
Yeah…if you do it…Do it on some good hard/live bottom #'s.
