Has anybody ever set up a charter to do this type of trip out of Charleston? Any luck? Best time of year to go?
I tried to use the search function to see if this has been discussed, but never seems to work for me.

I don’t get down there till July time, I would love to buddy boat with you guys. How far of a run from the jetties is it to good water?

My Dad said they did it in he early 70’s. Claimed one of his closest friends caught one of the first swords on regular tackle offshore here. Im interested,but it’s a long way out there and we need really good weather. For my 30 foot C/C a posse would be mandatory.

Never did a Charter but we have done 4 sword trips in my 268 Key west,the first in Dec 07 was the most productive.
it takes alot of planning and you need a good weather window and even with all that when they blow the forecast you will find yourself dodging thunderstorms all night long,its a thrill:wink:…hope to do a few this yr,you get more bang for your buck with the multiple days of fishing.
