We will be leaving the dock Saturday morning and running off shore to a few deepwater grouper spots, do a little trolling, maybe a little spearfishing if a weedline is present. We plan on staying overnight on a good bottom ledge and fishing all night, then trolling in the morning to catch the early bite. If anyone would like to accompany us in another vessel you are more than welcome to hang around and fish in the vicinity. We will be going regardless, I just wanted to throw this out there in case anyone needed a safety boat/buddy nearby. We have liferaft, epirb, dual vhf’s and will be in a large boat if someone needs assistance. We will be returning sunday afternoon.
forget buddying up, how do i get on the boat with you?

Unfortunately we are full this weekend, have had to cancel a few times due to weather so we are making up for lost time at this point. Will see about posting open spots on future trips. thanks fo the interest. Just wanted to let others know we will be out there if they need a buddy boat.

How was the trip?
We bailed a lot of mahi while on the drift over the ledge, absolutely smoked the scamp groupers on butterfly jigs, got pestered by the red porgy/silvr snappers. A friend on the boat hooked about a 25-30# wahoo on the jig which was nice to put in the box. Saw about a 60# wahoo sky on a large fish about fifty yards from the stern. It was my girlfriends first trip offshore and it was an overnighter so I broke her in right. She was a champ as she reeled in a scamp, some mahi, some snapper and two good size dusky sharks. She was amazed at the life she saw out on the ocean. Great trip with a great group of people.
