have a 2001 Yamaha sws2 225. It has a rough spot at around 1700 rpms. If you power right through it it is unnoticable, if I try to ease on the throttle it is a little hesitant then takes off. Checked O2 sensor, vst, plugs, and everything else I could think of. Any ideas? Someone told me this engine drops 2 cylinders until it gets to about this range and that could be what I’m feeling. Any truth to this?
Yep. Six cylinders at idle and above ~ 1700 rpm. Four cylinders in between.
if I remember correctly #2 and #5 drop at different rpms and then pick back up around 2000rpms
