Don’t know about the stores mentioned but around Columbia, they are $45 - $50 a bushel. We like to pick up our own. It is worth it to drive down, pick up our own, and drive back home especially if we need more than 2 bushels. If you live nearer to the coast, even better. Its a little bit of work, but you know where they come and how fresh they are. You can check the DNR website for the public beds closest to you. Nothing wrong with buying them, though. Just be sure to buy SC oysters because they are the best tasting.

Well my neighbor is from McCellanville and he has a guy out getting oysters right now, just waiting for him to call. Twenty bucks a bushel. I called Huffs and they want 45.00 for a hundred pound box of Virginia singles.

Pick your own, they’re delicious. When I get skunked fishing, at least I can take home some fresh oysters home.

Mmmmm…just ate a bushel of nice fat singles from my daddy’s lease with them tonight…salty and fat!!! 22.00 clusters @carolina seafood…he sells to Carolina’s seafood… You can ask them for oysters picked by bubby Morrison or Charles who also works his lease.

We rented a cabin up there once, had a dirt driveway paved with oyster shells. Probably aren’t many like that up there!
