Oysters

I was told today that the oysters may be limited this year due to the unusual amount of rain we had in the spring. Said a lot of the oysters on the beds had died due to the amount of fresh water and good beds were hard to find.

Has anybody heard this?

We were planning on taking the boys to harvest some over Thanksgiving.

Thanks

There was a big article in the Post and Courier about it this week. Beaufort got hit really hard. I know even here in Charleston we get a lot of oysters from Beaufort.

Out of the handful of oyster roasts I went to last year, I think all but the ones @ bowens island were from beaufort when I asked

I got my two bushels in about 20 minutes yesterday. I read the article, but saw no signs of oyster killoff in our area. Found a bunch of singles in the waterline at low tide.
Good Luck!
