The stripers are “eatin it up” in the river and flats…herring in the tanks and egg salads in the fridge. now is a good time to go. Andy caught one 28 lbs in the river last friday morning and lots of boats catching 10+ fish on the morning run. Looks like their back and looking to get better.
That sounds like the place to be! Wonder if all this water is going to help the spawn this spring.
you know it will…since the lake dried up it’s come back stronger than ever in the upper part (out of Pack’s). Bass, crappie, shellcracker, and look forward to seeing what the brims will look like…theyll prob be so fat they can’t swim. But right now the stripers are on FIRE!

Went Friday pm camped out and fished Sat too. Fishing was SLOW. Went 3/5 on the rockfish and 2 nice channel cats. Think it may have been due to the deluge of traffic on the river and the lack of courtesy shown. We were fishin a cast from the bank and had numerous boats blast between us and the bank. Also Packs was only selling 6 herring to the boat because they didnt have enough. I found this out on the way down and purchased all my bait else where. Thats a messed up way for them to do business. Especially when I call the day before and they say they will have all we want. And don’t call for a fishin report either because they are always “wearing them out”
Juice I had to laugh when you said “dont call for a fishing report” that is so true. Mr pack taught them well, and they always biting the bait they have at the time. Really want to see the fish make a comeback up there. I have had some great trips over the years out of Packs. Glad to hear you caught a few. We are gonna give them a try this weekend. Thanks for the report.

All my buddies are catching plenty of stripers in the river and the flats. The weekend is probably not the best time to be there unless you get up the river to get away from most of the traffic. Everytime i’ve been out this year have caught stripers…its “back” up there right now. I get pictures regularly on my phone from their guide trips and the are wearing them out! Sorry you had a rough trip Juice.
