Paddle Questions

I have a couple of questions about paddles:

  1. The grips that came on my paddles (inexpensive ones) is coming off.
What do you guys put on your paddles for grips?

  2. In that Christmas is just around the corner, I am looking at asking
for a better paddle. What is a good paddle that won’t break the
bank? Is fiberglass that much better than aluminum?

Any other input about paddles appreciated.

Thanks

I like my Werner Skagit(cf) paddle. It’s very light weight carbon fiber and was only $100 on sale. It’s not as light as the $400 paddles but is a bargain at that price point.

If two wrongs don’t make a right, try three.

I have a Werner Skagit (low angle blade) and a Werner Tybee (high angle blade) Mainly use the Tybee now, but I used the Skagit for about 4 1/2 years and it took a bit of a beating. Both very good paddles for the money, in my opinion.

TB2
