Went to my boat today to check on some stuff, work on my wet-slip, and replace a speaker.
While I was there, I hooked up my newly purchased water hose to fill my fresh-water holding tank.
Recently, I noticed the stem of my sink (in the cabin) had busted off. Guess the freeze ruptured it…
So, anyway, I turn on the pump, and I open up a hatch and look in the transom. (**(). My Surflo pump I put in LAST YEAR was busted to hell. Some fittings were busted, too. I go below and look at the sink and water was everywhere! A “bin” that held CD’s and some other stuff was now full of water.
Looks like I get to squeeze around and replace some MORE plumbing and pump and faucet.
I know, I’m a dumbass for not taking precautions. However, I never thought about it until a few hard freezes already happened, and at that point, I had assumed “what’s done is done” and I’ll worry about it later…
