Off to the Scarp in search of Tuna and Wahoo.

The weatherman was wrong…washing machine seas made for a slow start.
Once we arrived, the fish were around. Lots of flying fish, fish breaking the surface, and a lot of weeds.
The trolling was fruitful. We ended the day with 9 mahi, most slingers with a few gaffers, one 30 lb class wahoo, one MONSTER hoo that bent the hook at the boat, a lot of short strikes, but no tuna.

Who would have thought mahi would be around in October?

The seas didnt flatten out until the last ten miles in. It still beat sitting in the living room watching football!

sounds like nice trip

Were you at the scarp when you caught the mahi?

We started just South of the Scarp, and found all fish in 150 feet. The huge wahoo cut-off at the boat was in 200 feet trolling back in to the shallower water.

was the water blue or dark purple thanks

Leaning towards dark purple, 78 degrees, 3 to 5 seas, most mahi caught downswell…
