Tuesday afternoon GT Hole report -
Left the dock at noon, smooth fast 50+mph ride out to the blue water.
While getting the first three lines in, all were hit! It was on fire. We were only able to hook one, and it was explosive! My sister-in-law fought a huge fish - 41.5 lb KING! If only we were tourney fishing! Biggest king ever landed on the PainKiller.

Slow going after that initial hit? We landed a nice blackfin tuna a while later, then decided to hit the bottom in search of grouper. I just switched over from a conventional jigging setup to a spinning reel to get to the bottom faster.
We dropped in 300 feet, and only picked up large bait fish - tom tates and ring tails.
We moved to 150 feet and filled up the box with strawberry groupers, silver snappers, jolt heads, and b-liners.

Back to the slow troll…until the rod starts screaming! Kyle was celebrating his 21st birthday with us, and he was up!

He made nice work of the evening HOO!

Fast ride home to get the king weighed in for this crowd.

Great trip, even with the slow trolling. Who would have thought we missed the meat fish slam in July by not getting a dolphin? I blame it on the full moon.
Happy 4th of July!
Tight lines,
Jason
