Ok, not Wednesday but a rare Thursday. Left the dock around noon, straight to the WInyah Scarp. Capt Jay and Colonel Ted joined me. Forty miles per hour out, lines in at 1:30.
Within the first 20 minutes, one ‘Weehoo’ on the planar rod, red/black ilander.
Not long after, his slightly bigger brother join him on ice.
Trolled north, and then the long line starts screaming - first the mono is gone, then the first blue braid, then the older braid - when will the run stop - and it did. After my recent hernia surgery, the rod went into the rod holder for the remainder of the battle - and battle it was - monster over the gunwale.
Lines back in and not five minutes later, the last Wahoo made it in the box.
Two man limit of Wahoo and back at the dock just after 5pm.
Nice!!! Ok Pain, I was out there all day Thursday and caught 1 BFT and 15 or so Bonita. What kind of water temp and how deep did you catch in? I was around 30 miles south of you in 67-69 degree water 200ft.

Thank you for the kind words. The PainKiller is a 2010 32 Contender with a stepped hull. We repowered with twin 300 yamahas two seasons ago.
We were fishing the Scarp, right on the break we caught our fish. 3 out of 4 were deep on the planar rod, the monster however, was on the county line (way back surface line, aka the visitor rod, ,as I hand that rod usually to the visitors - i know better).

That is a fine ride you got there.
First stepped hull I ever saw was a Rybo Runner back in the 80's. Made sense about breaking the suction of the water.
Working out the quirks on my cat and it isn't a speed demon, but, the ride blows a v-hull away.
If you gots the time,
How far is the run you made round-trip?
You carry 300+ gallons of fuel ?
Does the stepped hull reduce the whip roll compared to a v-hull? The cat will sling you out but I trade that off for the ride out and in. My old 25 Bertram would plow through anything "slow" but trolling was like being on a dance floor. When it's flat(not very often) it was the best "ride" I'd ever been on(30 some years).
Thanks for sharing your day.
