Paint peelin on the hull

I used two coats of Rustoleum Topside Primer and two coats of Interlux Brightsides Topside paint and this **** is starting to peel on me. Mostly around the keel area. Any way to fix/avoid this besides repainting? Would a clear coat or two help?

Somebody told us Wall Street fell but we were so poor we couldn’t tell. Cotton was short and the weeds were tall but Mr. Obama gonna save us all

Peeling usually means it didn’t adhere properly to the hull. Most of a paint job is in the preparation. One missed spot and all is lost. Maybe you can just sand that area, solvent wash and reapply?

Bring on the 2-3 chop!

I would not clear coat over it. By adding clear coat, instead of just the paint peeling, you are going to have paint and clear coat peeling. The clear coat is only going to be as strong as what is underneath it. I second what Excavator said, tape off the section, sand, and re-apply. You should be able to blend any areas by wet sanding after everything is cured.

Bummer dude. Thats why they say its 80% prep/20% actually painting it, I guess.
