palmetto custom

Please give me your opinion. Have 25 contender and thinking about getting palmetto 33

Palmetto was a decent boat at best when they were an open facility. It really is nothing more than a dressed up Sea Pro. You would be devestated making that change.

I was on one about seven years ago, it seemed like a dern fine boat at the time, but I don’t believe the quality is there like what you are used to in the contender. Although going from a 25 to a 33, you might not need as much solid construction…if that makes sense. The >30’ contenders are about as tough as small CCs come.

I have three pieces of advice: Sea Trial, Sea Trial, Sea Trial

i’d rather have a 23 tender than a 33 sea pro- and i own a sea pro

I think I might just go buy a 31 contender!! Does anybody wanna buy a 25

Contenders are great boats. If I could afford a boat for offshore, I would consider this one as well: http://www.seaveeboats.com/320-boat-design.html

I have some scdnr friends that run thsose boats. Say they will scat azz but rough as hell. To light

A new Freeman fully rigged will run you $200k+

I had a 25’ Contender for five years and now have a 31’ which I have been thinking more and more about going bigger. When you get serious about moving up send me a PM.

I love my Palmetto.

Wouldn’t trade it for any other vessel of its size.

It is a 23.

It is hot, and rides like the champ that it is.

Now if I was looking at boats in the 30’s, I’d have to say, YELLOWFIN (it is dreamy)& INVINCIBLE (wicked bad).

But that’s just me.

Other than that - if looking at used vessels, I would go with whatever had the newer engines, or lower hours on the engines, or best maintained engines… the engines are where it is at**

Just to start Palmetto was not built in the same factory . they are not the SAME at all ,a 3 piece boat bonded with micrylarate. not a 2 part screwed together boat. I own a 33 palmetto & 17 seapro. I have worked on most of the seapro line. the glass in all of them is thin which makes them light and afordable. My 33 is 13,600# on the trailer with 100 gal fuel. that’s just wee bit more then two 25 cc seapro’s with twin 150s.
if you do not know a boat y would you bad mouth it.

I toured the plant in ~2006 while considering taking on the Sea Pro line at our dealership in Cola. At that time the Palmetto was being built in the Newberry Sea Pro plant. That being said it was a totally seperate production line with totally different manufacturing processes. We got to take out a new 33 with twin 275 Verado’s for it’s shakedown run and it was pretty darn impressive.

My 25 contender is for sale BC im about to buy a palmetto custom. Done deal!!!
