When those displays get replaced (by age, new design, whatever the case may be) they would make a great raffle, or give-away item. I see too many of these displays just trashed.

I honestly stopped surfing Internet porn (just temporarily) when I saw those pics of all the tackle.

Stirs my loins!

Glad yall are opening up shop here in the lowcountry. I bought a mosin-nagant a few yrs ago and i wanted to shoot it so bad. Went to find ammo and couldnt find any close to JI and wanted to shoot that day. I was working in Summerville the next day so i decided to just take off work a bit early and get a box at ATP while i was out that way and then go shoot a few times . Well, i went to ATP and a 20rd box of Tula steel cased 7.62x54r was 25.99. This ammo should have been 11-14 bucks. I bought it, just b/c i was hell bent on shooting my new gun,and had been for 24 hrs, but will never go back to ATP. I understand that a business has to make a profit, I run one. However, that seems to be more than just making a profit. I also understand supply and demand but just because .223,.308 and .22lr were in more a demand that the supply could meet doesnt mean one should mark up everything in the store the same as the high demand items. That is ripping someone off,IMO. Anyway, cant wait to stop in one day when i am working out that way(mt p) and check out the new store. On a different note and forgive me if its been addressed already, but will you be selling live shrimp at the Mt. P store?

I’m liking the rod racks, did yall have those custom built?

One more question, will you carry .22 ammo for a reasonable price?

I travel through Savannah about once a month to see my dad and hunt/fish. So, i can always pick you up something if you need it and drop it off on the way to my folks/hunting land. Just let me know.

Went to the Grand Opening on Saturday and…WOW!!! Had to be 300+ people waiting to get in before 10am. The left side of the store was everything we’ve come to expect from PSA…guns, ammo, tac gear, more ammo, more guns, gun safes, knives (best selection I’ve ever seen). Was pleasantly surprised to see a “high end” gun counter complete with Ceasar Guerini shotguns, Kimber rifles, Sako rifles. An associate told me they have Christensen Arms rifles on order that will go in this section. There were also Browning shotguns and rifles and Weatherby Mark V rifles in this section as well. The right side of the store, as soon as you walk in, is the fishing section. Honestly, there’s nothing like it anywhere in the Charleston area, bar none. You’re greeted by the largest selection of Z-Man and DOA you’ll ever see in a store in or around Charleston (Sorry Haddrell’s and Charleston Angler). They also have a good selection of Bomber, Mirrolure and Koppers Live Target hard baits. There was so much Gulp that if all of the packets and buckets busted open, it would take two and half weeks to get that stink out of the building…seriously. Awesome reel selection and rods as well. Very diverse in their offerings. More than just the “same old” you get at every other shop in Charleston…Shimano/GLoomis, Quantum, Fin-Nor, Okuma, Abu Garcia, Falcon, Cashion, ALX, Penn, Wright & McGill. Seriously, very diverse offering and with price points for every wallet. What they have to offer can’t even be touched by this already long-winded post. Do yourself a favor and pay them a visit. I asked the GM there what their hours of operation are going to be and he said Mon-Fri 8am-8pm, Sat 7am-8pm, Sun 10am-6pm. Succeed or fail, it seems like these guys are serious and not just a “flash in the pan” store. A lot of knowledgeable associates (Chris ad Capt. Dave were awesome to talk to in the fishing section) that seem eager to help. I’d say PSA is off to a solid start, in my opinion. Well done Mt Pleasant PSA!!!

Oh Yeah!!! And they have a pretty

The store seemed a little sparse when I checked it out Saturday. I mean, they have a ton of stuff, but it still seemed like there was more empty space than I expected. I imagine it will fill in over time. Looking forward to going back once they’re really settled in.

“Sparse?” You mean, aside from the 400+ people standing in line waiting to get in, right? LOL!!! I guess we’re used to seeing the local 2000sq ft shops with products stacked on top of one another. I actually liked their layout. Quite honestly, I’d like to be able to easily walk through a store while shopping without having to turn side ways and suck it in to pass between stacks of product. I asked some of the associates about the same thing and they mentioned there is still product coming in on a weekly basis. The GM told me since they haven’t ever stocked fishing product in any of their other stores, they didn’t want to order too much at first until they got a feel for how much space would be needed. He also said they had some delivery issues from their firearms warehouse that led to some empty spots on their gun wall. Clearly they don’t need to order any more Z-Man or DOA but he did say they will be placing orders for other product to really fill the store up with the right product. The grand opening date showed up before all of the product did. I guess the plus side to this is they’re going to have even more product in the coming weeks. PSA Mt Pleasant will be added to the “must” list every time I come to the Charleston area. Given their store hours, I will actually be able to hit the store for any last minute “needs” before hitting the water…which is nice.

I went closer to 4pm, specifically because we got a call from someone waiting in line for the doors to open and he said he was standing in the woods.

Yeah, it was pretty insane. I bet that shopping center hasn’t seen that many people in years, if ever. If that store is anything like the others, Black Friday is sure to be crazy too.

You should have gone on Thursday, I had the place to myself. My wife is going to be pissed next time she looks in the gun closet and sees all that ammo.

I guess as a small business owner i am biased,i really try to keep doing business with the local shops that have been around for yrs…

Do i like going and walking around the big box stores…,sure…

Its nice walking in and people actually know who you are…and i live 3 hrs away from Charleston…pretty cool…that and they will deliver bait to my boat if needed, fix my damaged items very quick…big box store your just another wallet…

I never will understand the fascination with the Walmarts of the world…

Positive or negative, we appreciate everyone’s ■■■■■■■■ that they are leaving. We had a huge showing for our Grand Opening and have been quite steady since then. As some of you have mentioned, we were missing a few items here and there, but trust me, they are on their way. Most people forget that we are still a very young company that is trying to work out the kinks. We just ask that you bare with us, and continue to support a local, home-grown business like Palmetto State Armory.

I agree about the actual “big box” stores like BPS, Gander and Cabelas but have you ever been in a Palmetto State Armory store? They only have five locations and they’re anything but a “big box” store. I walk into any of their other stores, be it in Columbia, Greenville, or Beaufort and they know me as soon as I walk through the door. Plus, it’s not like they’re from some foreign country or another state for that matter. They’re from right here in South Carolina.

Did those “local shops” know your name the first time you walked into their shops? I’d bet not but you had to make that first visit at some point. To each his own but no sense in cutting off your nose to spite your face. I can appreciate loyalty but in the end, every business wants a relationship with your wallet. If a compnay isn’t in business to make money, they’re not in business long.
