Pancora Crab Fly

After talking with jerms at the fly tying group the other night discussing Pancora Crabs, I decided to attempt to tie my own replica, keep in mind this is the first go and with time comes perfection. What ya think, I just need to shape the claws better, if I would have bought EP Claws it probably would of been a little better, and yes those are fish skull, Sculpin Helmets

even without the ep fiber "claws, this would kill tailing redfish …

you would definitely want to weight it on the opposite side of the claws… otherwise your “crab” is gonna have its head buried into the mud… put the claws on the opposite side and the bouyancy of the deer hair will give you a floating effect on the side of the claws making the crab look like he’s defending himself…

also I would scrap the sculpin head and just go with some heavy dumbels… that would probably give you a better result…
