Panther boats

Anyone have any experience with these? I have an opportunity to pick up a 93’ 16 ft cc and trailer for next to nothing. I’ll have to find a motor but for the price if the thing floats I’m getting it! It’s been sitting in a garage for the last 10 years and has never been left out in the weather.

Are you talking about the little narrow skiff type boats? If you are, my dad had one for the last 15 years. It was a great 2 man boat. He used it to crappie fish. His boat had a 35hp tiller steer motor, but a lot of them had the stick steer in the front of the boat. Those are nice because you don’t have to get up to drive the boat. I used to see a good many of them around Santee, but you hardly ever see them any more. I tried to find some info on the internet when he wanted to sell his boat, but I couldn’t find anything. The company must have went out of business. Anyway, it will make you a great fresh water boat and would probably do good on the flats. I’m not sure about the draft, can’t be very much.

I’m going to check it out Mon. evening. The guy says it’s a center console with the flip flop cooler seat. I figured it would make a good creek boat. With any luck I’ll be able to find a good used motor and have her ready to go by the time we vacation at Folly in July. I have seen a Panther bow rider but did not know they made a CC and haven’t been able to find anything on the net.

pm Tom Marlowe about those things. They definitely are out of business. There were some structural problems with them like floors rotting out in a year or two, stuff like that but if it’s solid and you get it for next to nothing what the heck. They’re no Pathfinder but then again what is?
