Paradise Island

I fished the Wando area from the Paradise Island ramp today. I am a lazy bum. I didn’t even leave the house until 11:30 this morning. I was out on the water until about 7:00 or so.
I caught a 14 inch trout, 18 inch ladyfish, and 11 inch flounder. Released them all. It was a beautiful day on the water.
I started fishing with a lead head and a rubber shad - one bite, but no attack - must have been a crab:smiley:.
Next, I looked for reds and tried a gold spoon - still no luck.
Zarra Pup - same.
Chartruse Mister Tister - not a bite.
I loaded the minnow trap and got some minnows. Caught all three fish on mud minnows, using a float.

Do you drop your trap off somewhere or just le tit hang under the yak? I just bought a trap and am not sure where to set it. I was thinking about dropping it off in a creek while I fish and coming back but I don’t want it swiped…

“Carpe Diem” does not mean “Fish of the Day”…

I dropped it off for a while and fished with lures while I waited for it to fill.

So I don’t know my way around Mount Pleasant at all, is Paradise landing at the county park, tried google maps and thats what showed up

Just past the Copahee landing on the left as you head toward Awendaw. It is about 3-5 miles past the Park West light.

As you head north out of Mt. Pleasant on Hwy. 17, about a 1/2 mile past the Copahee Landing. On your left is Chandler Rd. Should be a big “Pepper Plantation Lots for Sale” sign on your left too. Across 17 from Chandler Rd. is a funeral home. Take left on Chandler and wind all the way back 'til you hit the river.

Thanks for the info! I’m going to try and get out there this afternoon or tomorrow depending on how much I can get done around the house today.
