I was up that way about 2 weeks ago and it was closed off.
For repairs and upgrades or just closed?
I found this on the Charleston County Parks page:
Paradise Island Boat Landing Closed for Improvements
Paradise Island Boat Landing will be closed February 11 - May 31 for improvements that will include the installation and lengthening of a new two-lane concrete boat ramp and floating dock.
I don’t know why they insist on making major repairs during peak season unless it’s an emergency.
It’s like the people in these positions to make these decisions have never boated.
Yes, they do. That’s why the repair schedule is February to May, not May to February. Another factor you may not be aware of is that the permitting for a project like this is an unknown, but can extend for a year or more.
IDK, my peak season is Nov thru Feb

Thanks for the pics Stump! This upgrade is good timing for me. At HT the old ramp had me treating the running board to the rear tire and climbing over the tailgate. Followed by balance beam walk on the trailer!
Nor are you The new ramp looks amazing. A lot of ppl will bellyache about it but really IMO we need more access to the water everywhere and I applaud it!
