Parris Island Advice

I will be down at Parris Island later this week for work and figured it may be good to try the shrimping down that way since my “regular stomping grounds” (The Charleston area) are probably hopeless for the next bit. Does anyone have any advice for the area? I searched a little online but thought I would throw it out there again as probably a few of us need to look elsewhere for a while. I will be on base at Parris Island, but anywhere in the general area would be great. I will trailer a boat (15’ Scout) FWIW.

Thanks in advance and good luck to all.

Fripp Inlet. I used to shrimp there back in the 90’s. Big shrimp back then.

From google maps it appears there is a flat / sandbar at the mouth. Is that the area that you were referring to? I assume the area would be populated enough to figure out where to go, but I would wonder about the level of “protection” at the inlet. Would it be ok for a little boat like mine? Also, what would the nearest landing be? Thanks again.

Back in the days we use to shrimp on the two floating docks at that overfill pond. Decent shrimp even in the day. People use to take turns on the docks.

Try up story creek on the flats on the right

I sent a PM with some spots.

X2 on Story Creek. There are flats on the left also. They didn’t get near as much rain down there as we did around Charleston.
Good Luck !

Don’t go around there! All you’ll catch is small weak Marine trainees, trying to go AWOL! If you catch one throw it back, because they don’t measure up:wink::imp::smiley:
