Are there any Party Boats or Head Boats in the Mt. Pleasant area? Last time I was on a party boat in Mt Pleasant was on the Thunder Star.
Capt Donnie runs a pretty good party boat…https://www.ospreyboatcharters.com/

Thanks Bonzo I saw the Osprey but it seems to be charter boat. Being new to the area I don’t know enough guys to book a charter.
I heard every trip with Capt. Fritz is a party.

Not sure what you’re looking for exactly, but there is the Palmetto Breeze which serves alcohol and runs out of Shem Creek

If you mean party boat like head boat fishing murrels inlet or NBM have them and calabash NC are offshore. There are two near shore ones in Hilton head. The offshore ones are aweso.e the first time I ever went was on the thunder star and still think of offshore when I smell diesel because off it.
I am from NYC and there we call a daily fishing trip boat a party boat or head boat. No reservations needed just show up at the dock and pay your fare to fish for the day. I too have fished the Thunder Star a long time ago and that is what I am looking to do now that I have moved to Mt. Pleasant. Thanks for all the replies!
The New Inlet Princess seems to be the closest party boat to Mt Pleasant sailing out of Murrells Inlet. Has anyone fished from this boat? Is it worth the hour plus trip?
I am sure you are referring to a fishing/head boat…however since someone mentioned the Osprey, and Palmetto Breeze, etc. There is also the Southern Drawl out of Charleston Harbor Marina with pickups downtown, and other areas in the Low Country.
Yes a head boat is what I’m looking for. Thanks scdiver I will look them up.
I’ve been on the New Inlet Princess a few times and we had really good trips. The full day Gulf Stream trip is what I recommend. Also did the overnight trip with them which was a lot of fun!
We caught a bunch of fish.

Great to hear! Will have to book a trip or two and check them out. Maybe I’ll see you there?
Slow pitch, the party/head boats down here are few and far between. You won’t find anything like Sheepshead Bay, Captree or Montauk where the boats are lined up and you just pick your boat. Usually a much longer ride to fishing grounds down here if you are used to catching fluke, blues, bass etc…on party boats within sight of land.

I am beginning to think I’ll be doing less fishing here than in NY. I was hoping to really get out and fish more being retired. Not sure if I can go without my Montauk Striper fix. Lol.
My most memorable fishing trips growing up were our party boat trips out of Montauk.
Keep an eye on the “Fishing Match Up” forum on this site. It’s probably dead now, but once the dolphin show up, there will be people posting looking for crew to share expenses. Since you’re retired and not locked into fishing only on weekends, you shouldnt have a problem getting a few trips in.

Down here is where a signature goes but they can confuse and anger some people so I don’t have one.
Don’t underestimate our head boats. The bottom fishing is good. Its usually an easy day besides reeling in the fish. A long slow diesel ride. I will be making the ride out in early may. Last 2 times I went i came home sore from fishing not a boat ride. If you are good at fishing and like fishing its a blast just a long day. You fish like 5 spots like 20 minutes a piece 3hrs out 3hrs in and that’s about your full day of fishing. Each spot has a different target. Bottom limits for most fish are easy.
Sounds great 40inchrrds! If you don’t mind filing me on the SC rigs and techniques I would love to join you on a Party boat trip. Let me know when your going and I’ll join you.
