I keep hearing about how the old PF 17T will beat you up on a choppy run and is noisy when trying to pole. Does anyone out there run one and care to confirm/deny? I’m looking for a little bit better draft and this model keeps popping up on my search list… Thks.

Alex, I have a 17T whith a 50 yamaha. The ride is not great in a chop but is bearable. As far as being noisy when poling I cant say because it is the only boat I have ever poled however we have caught many fish poling and I have never noticed it being excessively noisy. Once you get use to driving the boat with the trim tabs the ride is just fine. These boats are really good for what they are designed to do (fish in skinny water). While you can spend more money and there are better boats available, for the price and what the boats are capapble of doing I dont think you can go wrong.
