Pawleys Island help

Was wondering if anyone would be kind enough to help me with some info. I will be coming down this coming week with my family and will have minimal time and opportunity to fish. I don’t have a kayak or boat. Could anyone please share some info on fishing the grass or wherever for reds(primarily). Access points, best tides, and any flies to have. Thanks for any help!

OTF. I’ve been fishing the marsh areas to the south of the South Causeway with some luck. I’m using a kayak, so access is much easier for me. Though I’ve never done it, I bet you could walk the south causeway and hop into some grass to wade or drive along the marsh side of Pawley’s Island and do the same. Tide wise, water moves up into the grass/flats areas at around 3.2’+(gauged at Ward’s Dock)…this weekend should be perfect timing for that. I’ve seen some reds, but not many. What I have been able to get into though are trout. Use any crab or shrimp pattern…just put it in their face. I’ve been using a Dorsey’s Kwan with beadchain eyes in Chartreuse #6…again, I don’t think it matters. If you’re going to wade, I would recommend bringing a broom handle to gauge depth of water wading across, help get your foot unstuck from mud, provide added balance, etc. Here’s Ward’s Dock link: http://www.tides4fishing.com/us/south-carolina/wards-dock-pawleys-inlet Good luck.

Thanks for posting the info. My email is available to if anyone would rather not put anything out there. Thanks!
