I’ll be doing just that!! I’ll be stopping by your store for some “bait”…lol Hook me up! Also, 8wt or what…I’ll be bringing 5wt and 8wt with me. Thinking I might need a stripping basket for beachside - or - maybe not…thoughts…
the wild card could be pompano. thats a good time for them in the surf. not sure what the success rate is on flies but i would say sand flea mimic. colt is the only one ive seen harvest the surf at PI on a fly. he throws a sinking line and works it pretty fast. the creek side may be thick with people tubing etc. we did good around your dock and the surrounding ones this winter for trout. the backcast is a problem. late august is usually a transition but the heat this year may push that later. ill try to get up with you if i can remember.

← beginner at saltwater ---- I’m bringing down an 8wt - med-lite action to Pawleys in Aug. Is that a good set-up? My double haul sux (still perfecting), but from what I’ve read, 8wt is about the best “minimum” rod to start SW fishing with - suggestions?
