Pawleys Island "Itel" needed...

OK, head’n back down to Pawleys Island in Aug (annual trip -19yrs)…anyone got any good intel of where and what’s bite’n? I’m on the South end - but have some north end connections - just getting a feel for the current “whats up” in the area. Besides the large amount of booze required for such a visit - bringing down some poppers I’ve tied…anything else working?

All I can tell ya is that we saw a lotta tarpon jumping in the surf off Litchfield beach. Other than that, not much action

Its the summertime, everything is eating everything…don’t overthink, just fish

I tore the flounder up sat in MI. them I took the old lady out to the pawley jetty and we ending catching 6 sheephead 4 toadfish and a stingray off the hill with live shrimp. We did had something big Im guessing shark take the cut mullet but after abt 15 mins of fighting it cut her off in the rocks. Boy was she mad

poppers good for early and late for the trout and maybe a red. But, I would stick with small chartreuse/white clousers. I tie some small flies with black heads, syn. body and with lead wire on the shank. I am not sure what they are called, but they work good dredged near bottom for the trout. For the reds, anything weighted with some copper, gold, tan, etc. will work. An intermediate line would be good too. Both north south end are good and the best bite in pawleys is always around low, moving water. good luck.

I’ve caught flounder in the creek with MM’s copperheads.
