Approximately 170 nm round trip. We burned about 45± gallons of fuel. It was a nice trip. For those that don’t know there’s a pontoon bridge just north of Bird Island that opens every hour on the hour. Get there close to the hour or have your icy libations ready. We stayed at Blue Water Point Marina. It’s not the most up to date Motel, but it was fairly cheap. The rate was $90 per nite ( taxes included) and 1.60/ft dock fee. South Port looked like a really nice place to check out. Unfortunately we didn’t get out of the boat there due to the wind nearly peeling our faces off. We had shrimp burgers at The Provision Company in Holden Beach, it’s a cool little spot on the ICW. Next time we’d like to head south probably past charleston. If ya’ll have any suggestions let’s hear it.
