PB Flounder Saturday Night 10/11

I’m sure many of you flounder experts have seen much larger, but I caught my personal best flounder this weekend at 22.5 inches. I’m pretty excited – I just recently started targeting flounder, and was thrilled to catch this. I’ve stuck some before that were probably around this size, but it’s so rewarding to catch one on a rod and reel! I’ve also been experimenting a lot more with artificials, so that’s been really fun as well.

nice doormat bud. ive never had any luck with flounder other than randomly coming across one on the TT’s here and there.

No matter how many big ones you catch, a 22" doormat is always a nice surprise!!! Congrats!!!

Thanks guys! I went down to Beaufort last weekend and felt like I hooked into one about the same size (it actually pulled some drag!), but I think that I didn’t quite wait long enough to set the hook – it pulled after a short fight. I did get 2 trout though while targeting flounder as a consolation prize, so it wasn’t all bad!
