Long time lurker, 1st actual fishing report:
Boat’s been in the shop for way too long (that’s another story) so took the canoe out Saturday afternoon on the falling tide to check out some favorite paddle-to spots. #1 spot was taken so tried another usually less productive spot. Tide was dropping through an oyster funnel and the reds were eating whatever came through. Drifted a black and purple peanut butter with the occasional twitch and picked up 3 slotties and a 30 incher before a feisty one ran under the canoe several times smashing my 8 weight XP. Didn’t feel like changing out my 10 weight from the shark set up so resorted to the spinning rod to pick up a few more. They are hungry right now, really need to get my boat back and get out more often!
