A friend asked me to pick some pears from his trees yesterday…I showed up with a small plastic grocery bag…he made me leave with about 60# of fruit…gonna give a good bit away, but does anyone have other ways to prepare pears other than the obvious? Pear soup, pear cocktails, pear and ice cream is what I’ve seen on the net so far…any other recommendations would be appreciated. If anyone wants some let me know as well!
Thanks!

I have a great recipe for a pear relish. The relish is wonderful with Hamburger,Fried Squash, Green Tomatos. There is some labor involved but once you try it I think you may be hooked,It was my sisters favorite. The recipe is something you will want to make year after year. When I could find the Pears I would make it and can in Pint jars. They made great Christmas gifts. Let me know if you still have them and I will send the recipe. p.s. I got the original from a women in McCellansville
And Coolbreeze, if you can journey over to Camden, I’ll give you all the pears you want. We need a couple dozen for canning, and if you can fight the squirrels you are more than welcome. (803) 807-0307
