I’m thinking about picking up some pencil poppers.
Y’all have any recommendations about size and colors?

I use a Storm Chug Bug mostly these days, but I have had good luck with them before ( 1 oz) . How about a 1 oz wht/red trade for a crippled herring???

I’ve been using a Creek Chub Striper Strike that I found snagged in a tree a while back, and have been having a blast with it. I almost threw it out the first time I tried it because it sank. I figured it was just old and rotted out for being in a tree for who knows how long. Turns out it sinks by design. It has a solid plastic body that you can cast a mile. When you work it, it stays on top, but you can stop it and let it sink when they miss it. I think the surf casters up north use them.
I’ve been having a lot of luck with the broken back red fin it’s about 6 inches long. It is silver. Most of the time when u through it on a boil up they hit it.

Thanks for the input.
The Striper Swipers I’ve been using work well but, as you know, a man can never have too many lures.
Striperkiff - If I had an extra Crippled Herring I’d consider the trade. I’ve put a couple on my Cabela’s Christmas wish list. I pray nothing happens to the one I have between now and then. lol

As far as colors, I like the beat to $h!t look.
Steverino, I’m sure the beat up plug still works just fine but if you want to doctor it up, here is a cool new product…
I’ve spent about 85% of my life’s wages on fishing, the rest I just wasted…
