Found a Battl 8000 online for $120 free shipping. Comes with a Penn t-shirt or a reel nice cover to keep the salt off
I’m planning to use it for my med-light tackle offshore trolling. I like to keep it fun…Has anyone gotten their hands on one yet? Personal opinions?

The battles are amazing reels, I love mine to death. Wouldnt trade it for nothing in the world…especially a Shimano
Haddell’s point has them and yoou won’t have to pay or wait for shipping
yella bote
black motor
How much are they going for at Haddrells? $120 seems like a good price to me considering the Battle 5000 is about $100. Plus if I ordered it, I would also get the reel cover…check out the link.

I was looking at the Penn Battle 3000 for inshore fishing …it is only rated for 10lb braid…
can it be spooled with more like 15 or 20lb braid or should I stay at the recommeded rate of 10lb???..any suggestions??

Bugs, the 3000 Battle will be fine with 15 or 20 lb, you’ll obviously lose some line capacity but it will be a-ok.
Thanks David.B

I bought one of these from the website, haven’t had a chance to use it yet. Reel cover came with it and you can get t-shirt or buff for p&h(can get up to two). Looking forward to breaking this bad boy in!

They are $119.99 at Haddrells. You can actually put your hands on one before buying it. They are geat reels.
they are 99.99 at charleston angler. I bought a 4000. The drag is silky smooth
Bugs I got a 3000 at CA Summerville spooled with yellow powerpro 15lb. It is an AWESOME reel. I will buy these from now on.

Used my 8000 this weekend fishing for sheeps. They were no match for it! Spooled up with 50# braid tipped with 50# mono leader. No lost terminal tackle, reel pulled it all back in. Had a moment when a 6’ shark that obviously didn’t get the memo about protected BSB’s, grabbed the one I had on my line and SIZZLED about 60 yards of line off. Battle jerked the unfortunate BSB from the jaws of certain death(do I get an attaboy for that?). He was shredded on both side when I got him in. Swam (don’t know an aquatic term for limped) slowly away on mandatory release. Any way…reel performed very well.

I just got the 6000 spooled with 65# spectra 250yds paired up with a uglystick tigerlite jig rod
Hope to test it out Monday.
Ill know how good it is real quick after a couple deep drops on some grown reef donkeys and hopefully a blackfin or two
Anyways it seems to be well made
