Yeah Joey! Got a 2500 conflict on a penn regiment rod. Cast and performs well. The conflict has 20% stronger drag, one more bearing and is 4% - 10% lighter (depending on the reel size) than the penn battle. Im a believer. Good luck bo.

I bought a 1000 for shad and crappie to try, feels good and robust but I think the sealed bearings make for a “stiff” retrieve. As in if you were to just fling the handle to freely wind up it has some resistance from the bearings. Nasty Dawg said it was normal. Yall have the simalar scenarios? This is my first reel with sealed bearings.

I’m looking at getting a 3000 for inshore use. A little better drag, line capacity over the 2500. I think 3000 is the best size for inshore.
I have a 2500 for inshore and it has been great. The bearings get smoother with time or you can take them out clean them and re-oil lightly with rocket fuel oil or hot sauce oil and that’s smooth them out nicely but you do have to reoil more frequently as they are light oils
I have the conflict 2000 reels on ML rods for trout fishing and conflict 3000 reels on medium rods for reds and flounder. They have been great reels so far!
Thanks guys. Although a little large, I used my conflict for the first time over the weekend on some shad. Was pleased with the performance and I agree, it does retrieve a little stiff. Thinking that will loosen up with time. Love my Falcon Bucoo rod with my Stradic for Shad though. Those little rascals are a workout on that light rod.

i have been eyeing them up finally got a few in my hand… what is a little odd is the size jump from 4000 to the 5000 it looks like they went from a medium reel to a oversized in 1 step. i also thought the eva grip was quite hard which threw me off.i understand they dont want it super soft but it might as well be metal or plastic. i kinda wish they offered a live liner option
if i do get one it will be on a trevala 6’3-6’6 mh rod…
