Is this a decent deal for someone (Me) trying to get started doing some inshore fishing ?

Save another $20 and buy their $40 Pursuit II combo. Exact same internals, just with a graphite body instead of aluminum.

Which ever one you buy, keep it very clean, and wash in freshwater after every use. They tend to wear out the bearings under the rotor on the pinion, so keep it clean and oiled. But for the price they work well. If it starts to get rough, or locks up, just buy $15 worth of new bearings and repair.

Are you interested in a Battle instead? I’ve got a 5000 laying around. I’ll sell it to you for 60 bucks loaded with braid if you want it. The battle will outperform the pursuit and fierce in every aspect. Downside is you’re still gonna need a rod…Text me if you think you’d like it. 843 582 1991

Thanks for the offer Capt Killin. I went ahead and ordered the Pursuit II Combo. Since I’m 4 hours from the coast and don’t get down there much, it won’t see a lot of use so it should work fine for me.
