Penn Spinfisher 8500LL spooled with 50lb power pro. Live liner is amazing for surf fishing, no more tightening the drag every time you are ready to set the hook, just turn the handle and it’s on. Also comes with a spare spool that is spooled with never used 65lb power pro.
I’ve used this reel all season and it is amazing. It will handle everything you will throw at it up and down the cost - from 100lb rays, 100+ sharks, huge redfish, whatever.
If you are looking on getting into serious surf fishing here, this is the one. $150 for the reel and extra spool.
12’ Star-Rod Stellar Surf Spinning Rod - rated for 3-10 - this rod will absolutely launch a 4-8oz weight with a full whiting or mullet on it. Bought it this year at Haddrells for 200 bucks - let it go for $150.
6’6" Shimano Trevala jigging rod fished one time. Serious light weight jigging rod that works great on the piers or the boat. - $90
