Reel…It reminds me very much of an Avet two speed. The drag is smooth all the way from free to past strike. The two speed function is quick, and easy to use. I like the narrow spool, keeps down the cost of braid. The only thing I don’t like is that there is a 1/4" play in the handle, both forward and backwards.
ROD… I LOVE IT!!! I can already tell that this rod is a BEAST! I think it will out perform the Trevalla rods in the same class. The carbon fiber is visible, and the rod has a flattened foregrip to keep the line from digging in.
I am spooling it with 65# power pro depth hunter line. It should be a great jigging combo, and I will continue to post about it as I get to fish it. If any other site members want to use it, come by my store and I will loan it out to you.

You hit on the reason I don’t own the Penn TRQ - I can’t stand the “slop” in the forward /reverse. I currently own 4 of the Shimano Torsa 20/30’s for just that reason. Although I am completely disgusted with Shimano customer service in reference to all the ball bearings failing within the first year of my Torsa reels I would still recommend them over the TRQ’s. Looking to get an Accurate from Santa for Christmas??

Are We There Yet?
Hey Paul one think that I have noticed about my reels that I have on the graphite mounts tend to not feel as solid as compared to being mounted with aluminum mounts. They seem to shift from the left to the right a little. Do you feel anything like that with these rods? I’m looking for a new setup for a bottom rod and I like the avet reels but I am still looking for a good rod.
The reel seat is just like a Trevalla. I just tried to twist it, and it does not move. I already know I love this rod!! It is built for the job.
