Loaded this morning with small trout.Nate caught about 10 and I did the same.not one keeper trout today. They hit live shrimp.grubs.Water temp was 77.Clear to 2 feet. When I sell my sea hunt I hope to get in the grass and chase reds big time.Looked at a bay Boat at Seels yesterday.Sweet!!!
Yeah but you still went out. I’ll take a day like that over work any day.
i’m jealous too. used to fish the hell out of the creek but never caught too much besides bait in the spring (huuuuge mullet in the grass clumps at high tide). i’ve tried for trout there but never in the fall. tried the deep holes there in the winter hoping for stacked up trout but only managed one. also tried for reds at parts of the creek with only a few shorts b/w the the two bridges. haven’t given up on that creek but just not ready to try and hit it again. that creek is sort of near our house so love going there but never could boat anything worth getting excited about.
Today best time was falling about 1 hour into it.Last time was 3 hours on the rise???

- glad you made it out
- glad you caught some trout
- good on you for releasing them
- glad water is still relatively warm
- can’t see you in anything other than your old boat

Love the boat and if i do not get my price i will just keep it.The bay boat i saw was really nice. With a t top that folds down i can get to my old old spots that i just can not get to in the sea Hunt.I just see myself sitting on the bow with a trolling motor working the grass.Lazy man style.I will be 76 in march so why not.LOL

Is that the same Penny’s Creek that comes back out to the Stono farther east ? I have fished parts of it all my life…
No it tracks back and comes out at Snag creek (WAOMC)High tide or a shallow drat rig gets you into some prime unfished areas. That’s why i want a shallow draft rig now.

The little creek that comes out where the marina was next to the Stono bridge… I have always known that as Penny’s creek (not Penny Creek). 'Course we always them called then redfish Spottails, too!
Crosses over the river to the other side.Old timer about 40 years ago said that was the name???
