Made it out a few evenings last week (Sept. 27, 29, 30) and had decent luck each night. Thursday stood out as probably one of the best trips ever in the kayak. Went out at dead low tide and began blind casting around oysterbeds with an Exude jerk bait. Second cast landed a decent trout so I staked out to work the area some more. 5 casts and 4 fish later I am trying to repair my mauled bait when I look up to see a huge osprey come down 25 feet in front of me splash down in the water and take off with an undersized trout still flipping around. I guess the size limits don’t apply in nature. Caught 8 trout one being the largest I have caught this season in boat or kayak (4.25lbs) and lost probably half dozen more at the boat trying to boga them.
