Perko switch

I want to move my battery from the stern of the boat to under the console and also get a second battery with a Perko 1,2,All switch.
Also, I only want to run one battery cable (dual) back to the engine. I have looked at the Perko wiring diagram. Fairly straight forward.

My question is - What is the best method of combining the ground connection from battery 1, 2 and back to the engine?

put the motor ground on 1 battery, and a jumper wire from one battery to the other.

Got it. Thanks. Don’t know what the heck I was thinking. Trying to make it complicated or maybe I just like drilling holes in my console.[:I]
