Headed out late with some live shrimp from Haddrell’s. Fished a few new places to no avail. Decided to go where we’d been having luck lately and couldn’t get the anchor to hold for the first 3 tries. Finally got anchored and the bite was SLOW.
The first 30 minutes or so we caught a trout and a red or two. Things started to pick up and we got about 10 reds and trout a piece. Then I decided to throw my float into some deeper water where we had caught trout the week before and got what looked like a tiny nibble. The float went down and ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!! I figured it was a big red since it wasn’t the “sheepiest” of fishing spots. Finally got it by the boat and yelled for the net. 10lb, 20inch Sheep! Then my dad managed to land another one that was 7 lbs.
All in all, we had a great day and will be eating fish tonight!
