Pic of Rigged TroutTrick

I’ve had several phone call asking how to rig the TroutTrick. Hope this pic of one rigged with 1/8th ounce Gamakatzu or Owner ball type jighead helps.

I bought some at Haddrell’s the other day and only had a chance to try them in the creek we were staying on. Probably too shallow and muddy so I can’t wait to get back down and try them in better conditions. Should you always use 1/8 oz or can you use 1/4 oz jig heads as well?

Question, from your seminar you said you have to give them a couple big jerks than let them drop down. How far up to you hope to jig them from the bottom?

DFreedom, 1/8th ounce Gamakatzu or Owner ball type jigheads, as the rate of fall is critical to creating a “reaction bite”.

Vinman, Tell Op hello for me. Normally I want to pick it up two to four feet, depending on the water depth. In real shallow water, I jerk it sideways, then let it fall. When I’m scouting, I may give it four to six jerks before the fall. When I’ve got a school pinpointed (Rick Clunn’s spot within a spot) I may only give it one jerk. Hope this helps and don’t hesitate to call.

Thanks, Bob
