How is this landing anymore? Any need to worry about truck/trailer/contents?
I remember back in the day it was a haven for drug users and the like, but I have heard they have “cleaned up” the neighboring area.
Sure would be convenient to me for some fishing on that side of town.
Thanks

I live very close to that boat ramp and have often driven by and even jog by it occasionally but I don’t think I’d feel comfortable leaving my truck there. There seems to be a lot of traffic going through there and I don’t mean boats.

I used it yesterday for about 10 minutes. Had a prop to test. There was another truck there the whole time I was, with trailer, off to the side. There was also a black Lexus pulled up under the tree, with a gentleman sitting in it with the windows down the whole time.
I “accidentally” let my shirt ride up as I entered the boat and exposed my weapon. He saw it and left. Whoops.
I ran to the Ashley, ran the prop, and headed back in uneventfully.

Nah, just a regular guy who works hard for his things and doesn’t want some lowlife taking those things. Could have been pure coincidence that he left. I will not use this landing again, however.

Maybe the guy in the black Lexus didn’t feel safe due to someone “accidentally” exposing his weapon… I think it’s called concealed carry for a reason.

Went back today on the way to a different landing to check it out before the storm to run another prop. Broke up some sort of deal in the parking lot and 2 cars hauled ass and 4 or 5 guys ran down a trail into the woods. I didn’t stay.
Pit viper, you’re right, it’s called that for a reason. And your “maybe” scenario is entirely possible. Regardless, it happened and it’s done. Now that I think about it, my use of quotations on the word may have been a little much. I didn’t brandish my weapon, I simply didn’t keep my shirt down when climbing in the boat. As stated before, probably coincidence, it’s doubtful he even saw. He certainly didn’t leave right away.
