Pierpont Landing

Does anyone know about how deep that landing gets at low tide? I know its a smaller landing and more for kayaks but I was wondering if I could get my 14ft side console in there. Could anyone help me with this?

I stumbled upon this landing while I was helping my friend move the other day too Mike. I have heard that it gets pretty deep but don’t quote me on that. We should go explore the hell out of that creek though

Every piece of tail you turn down is a piece of tail you didn’t get.

Plenty of water for a boat that size at low tide. The stumbling block is the landing, there is about a 2 foot drop off at the end of that ramp…and it’s not very long. It will flat eat a trailer! I wouldn’t try loading or unloading without a half tide or better. Nice quiet spot though.

It looks like it’s only a short hop to the river but the creek is so winding that it probably close to a mile. Watch out for boats speeding in the creek. One of my buddies discovered a body floating there many years ago. The victim’s john boat had been run over by another boater who fled the scene. The cops hounded my buddy for quite a while since they had no other suspects.

I had a car broken into there many years ago.

As First Born said the drop off is steep. We put my High Tide in at low tide with very little trouble. The ramp does get very slick at low tide since it isn’t used a lot. Also I must agree with Palmetto Bug, leaving a truck and trailer there for very long might be very risky.
When we went out at low there were some turns in the creek that read 9ft deep so once your in there is no question you can make it out.

Careful there too, it’s been used as a dumping spot for all sorts of crap over the years, water heaters, stolen news paper machines, you name it. There used to be a small fishing pier there, i watched a kid jump off the pier and land upright in an old washing machine. EMS hauled him off with some wicked bad lacerations. Lived there all my life and never really caught anything worth keeping there. Last time i tried, i lost 4 rigs in 4 casts and left.

I used to take my john boat with a trolling motor and went all up and down that creek both ways, once out to the Ashley and another way past the bridge the other way. I just didnt know if it was deep enough to put an actual boat in at. Thanks for the information.

and yeah Cooper, me and my buddies have lost so many lures in there. i was just going to put in there since its not crowded and isn’t far from my house.

i launch a 35’ pile driving rig there on 1/2 and up with no problem.
