Going up to Pigeon Forge later this month on a family vacation. Thinking about stowing the 4# in the car and trying to slip away one day for a little trout fishing.
Are there any trout waters close to Pigeon Forge that I can get to in a reasonable amount of time that’s actually worth trying?
There is a lot of water to fish in the smokies. Little pigeon isn’t to far and the little river is up there too. Roaring fork, dudley creek, and le conte creek are up there. Now I have never been up there but I have done some homework on the area cause want to take a trip out there. Gsitlinburg stocks rainbows weekly during the season. Check out Southeastflyfishingforum.com there are a lot of people on that site that can help
There is tons of waters up there. Just pull over where you can and check an area out. Deep pools that make eddies and just look to see where other people are fishing. Look under rocks and in the trees to try and match the hatch. You can also fish in downtown Gatlinburg, It might fool you with all the people around but they stock that stretch with nice trout. Gatlinburg area is where I would start and then work your way back to the vally. Good luck.
