Pioneer fuel fill line Ethanol????

I’ve seen a lot of ethanol related problems but never in the fill line.
Anyone else seen or experience anything like this?

This not only delaminates inside but outside as well. Started noticing earlier this year it was taking a long time to put gas in. Last time I went to the station = 30 min. To put 10 gal. in.
I got all but about 18" that runs from the console under deck to the gunnel out. Hoping Pioneer will hope with the rest of this repair. Sounds promising.

Ouch! Please keep us posted.

Dang, never seen that. Looks like it caught on fire and melted.

Yeah, you need to contact Pioneer about that. How old is your boat?

Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn’t go so far as to call a dog filthy but they’re definitely dirty. But, a dog’s got personality. Personality goes a long way.

Yes I’ve seen it. Was told it was ethanol. Still can’t confirm ethanol was the culprit though. One I saw was in a key west, early 2000’s model.

The fuel fill and vent lines on my HenryO looked just like that when I replaced them a few years back. Started getting gas in the bilge. Opened her up and was astonished they weren’t leaking a LOT worse.

It will eat fuel lines also from the inside out !!

Just got word back from Pioneer. They are going to help fix it.
The boat is a '07 & I’m the second owner. I rarely use Ethanol but can’t say what the first owner used. I’ve used Sta-bil regularly but hell that could have been the cause for all I know.
Just glad I don’t have to cut the deck up & Pioneer is a quality company.

Glad they are gonna fix the problem.

Double D.

I’ve got an 08 197SF… you said it was delaminated from the interior as well?.. I’m just curious if I dropped a camera down there if I could tell weather or not I needed to tend to a similar issue or not?

Mine started early the summer / spring & noticed it was hard to put gas in where I could just barely crack the nozzle at the pump. Took it into the shop for some other stuff & had them check & see if they saw anything. They could blow air through but that was the extent of it. After I got it back went to add fuel & that’s when I decided to dive deeper without paying someone to do the time consuming cut out. All the spots I could see looked half way ok. But as soon as I started getting deeper were the line turned under the deck the really bad spots showed up. I tried to get this last short section but it just kept coming apart.
Way worth the trip to the factory & a minimal charge to know it will be done right. Great folks at Pioneer. Being the second owner & cue to the age of the boat they didn’t own me anything.
I’m surprised there isn’t a class action about the damage ethanol is causing. Wonder why you don’t hear about it on vehicles?

Had the same thing happen to a '02 Key West I owned.
Fill line collapsed. It kept getting longer and longer to fill the boat.
It finally shut off completely…
Traded the boat and let the dealer / Key West fix it
Use non- ethanol exclusively now.
Have had similar ethanol problems with lawn mowers and grounds equipment.
Stopped using it in this equipment too.
