I’ll bet the guys in that tournament were pleased.

try to vacuum seal those tuna steaks. you can def. get more freezer time if you do.

The older I get, the better I was.

That’s a good idea. I’m going to buy one of those vaccum sealers soon. I held off because of price but I think you can get them a Wally World for $40-$50 now. Definately worth the investment.

I just started using one this season and now I couldn’t go back.

TrueBlue - did you get our little gift the other night @ Remly’s?

First year shrimp baiting. So in making my poles I used 1" PVC pipe at 10’ long and a 1’ piece of galvanized pipe in one end hammered to a flat blade for getting through oyster beds.

pro tip… Don’t set up on oyster beds. This creates a situation that is catostrophic to your net.

The Tibor is in the mail!

Right on, Trueblue. Glad y’all had a good day. That’s a nice-sized sailfish there, and getting a little red meat on the side is always a bonus. That’s a purdy boat right there, too.

That tuna sho’ was tasty and bless the sails, those things put on such a fine display!

True, have you ever tried for a sail on the fly?

Haven’t had the oppurtunity. I would love to do it and have a rod and reel that could handle it just haven’t gotten the chance. A friend of mine goes to Costa Rica or Guatemalla every year and kills them on the fly. I don’t really think you get enough shots here to risk screwing it up with the fly. Down there they get forty to fifty shots in a day. Floating Hatians told me he has seen folks catch dolphin on the fly along weedlines here. I think that would be a blast aswell.

Giving it a shot this year once they start ballin up real good. I imagine it shouldn’t be too terribly hard since people are casting artificials at them when they are finned out.

good luck

Love to. I was in the angler today and saw a picture of some guys that work there with a nice sail (75-80 lbs) caught on a pink streamer off charleston. It can be done.

Ill email you and let you know when we are going next.

Look forward to it! I’d like to try the weedlines for dolphin aswell. I think that could be a lot of fun.

I cant wait, it is so much fun with a spinning rod i would love to try it with a fly rod!

Have you caught them on the weedline? Do you stop the boat and chum them up or what?

Yea, we got into them pretty good this year on a couple of trips. It is fun watching them come up and inhale a ballyhoo and take off screaming on the penn spinning reel. I cant wait for the bite to pick up again in the fall. Then duck season, then when the mahi bite explodes in the spring again.
